Founded in 1902, Cadillac is one of the oldest marques still in production and its crest, based on the coat of arms of Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the founder of Detroit, Michigan, has been synonymous with luxury and quality ever since. By the time General Motors acquired Cadillac in 1909, the brand had already established itself as a premier luxury carmaker known for precision manufacturing and technological innovation spawning the company slogan "Standard of the World".

This 1941 Cadillac Series 75 Limousine was among the last American cars produced before the war, and it is a testament to a different era. By the late 1930s, production had shifted away from custom coachwork to a distinctive yet elegant body by Fleetwood, and the Series 75 was Cadillac's largest and most luxurious offering. Available in a standard four-door sedan and Pullman limousine as offered here, it comes from the long-time ownership by a physician. It has been enjoyed as a weekend driver and parade car over the past 37 years, and it has seen duty at many a wedding, given its formal appearance and stature. It is a highly original example with an older cosmetic restoration many years ago. The correct lacquer paint is showing its age but has wonderful patina, and the interior is in very good condition, given its age. The previous owner had the entire front leather seats redone by someone who had worked at the Cadillac factory, and the rear mohair interior is original to the car. The original engine was personally rebuilt by the owner in 1987 to include new pistons, camshaft, and water pump, and the fuel pump and radiator core were rebuilt at the same time. In 2003, the engine to dash wiring was also replaced. This Cadillac has always been garage kept, and its engine readily starts up with the correct six-volt system, even after long periods of not being driven. While not a show car, it can be enjoyed on tours or Sunday drives in the countryside.

This 1941 Cadillac Series 75 Limousine is the last of the great prewar Cadillacs and a reminder of a bygone era. Its stately and imposing stature looks like something out of 'The Godfather', and it represents the pinnacle of American luxury cars prior to the war that forever changed the world. Ready for a new caretaker to be enjoyed and admired, this Cadillac will take you back in time to a far more simple and innocent time.
