Cadillac’s cars have always represented the hallmark of American luxury. Simply put, a Cadillac was the car to own for the truly affluent in society. One of Cadillac’s core models that carried them through many years of profitable sales was the Series 62. Throughout the 1950s, the Series 62 models represented the very pinnacle of Cadillac’s popularity and Cadillac was on top of its game. Updates for the 1954 Series 62 cars included a three-inch wheelbase extension that accommodated a longer, lower and sleeker body and a new egg-crate grille with inverted gull-wing front bumpers. These were large cars that epitomized the extravagance of the 1950s and Cadillac’s Series 62 cars for 1954 were a winner from any angle.

Offered here is an excellent example of Cadillac’s finest in the way of a 1954 Series 62 Convertible that has been fully restored and today looks just as it did when it left the factory. Finished in a lovely Mandan Red, its 129-inch wheelbase nicely showcases the essence of this big car. The Series 62 Convertible Coupe weighed in at nearly 4,600 pounds and sold for a whopping $4,404. With an overall length of 216-inches, this Series 62 Convertible makes a dramatic statement on the road. The massive chrome bumper on the front of this convertible is a work of art and gleams like new while the rear is accented by the tasteful taillights that were giving just a hint of what the future held for the jet inspired fin. The interior is finished in gorgeous black leather and, as a premier luxury car, features power windows, power seats, AM/FM, and the fascinating Autronic-Eye automatic headlight dimmer. Power for this Cadillac comes from a 331 cubic-inch V-8 engine rated at 230 horsepower mated to a GM Hydra-Matic four-speed automatic transmission that easily allows for modern highway cruising. The engine and drivetrain are superbly detailed and looked just as nice as the rest of the car. The convertible top is power operated and this Cadillac was recently detailed and is ready for show or go.

Cadillac’s fine line of cars is nicely showcased in this beautiful convertible. With its gleaming red paint and black leather interior, this is a car that can never go unnoticed. Whether on the concours show field or the local ice cream stand, this is a car that shows how great a Cadillac can be.
